Check my policy

A guide, not an offer. Only a written offer, after we check the figures with your insurer, is a real answer.

Why we ask these six questions

They are the checks that most often decide whether a policy can be sold.

  • Type of policy

Only policies with a cash value can be sold. We buy participating endowments, and whole life case by case. Policies we buy

  • Ownership and nominations

Only the legal policyowner can sell, and a trust nomination usually blocks a sale. Nominations and assignment

  • How far through the term

Early on, surrender value is low and premiums are still to come, so a buyer rarely beats it. Why surrender value starts low

  • Loans and pledges

A loan comes off the price; a pledge or earlier assignment must be released first. Selling with a loan

Eligibility questions

Can I sell my insurance policy?

If it has a cash value, you own it outright and nothing such as a trust nomination stands in the way, often yes. This check tells you how likely it is.

Does a "likely" result mean you will buy it?

No. It means nothing obvious stands in the way. We still need your insurer's figures before we can make a written offer.

What happens to my answers?

Nothing. They stay in your browser and are not sent to us unless you go on to Check my policy.
