Who we are in law, who regulates what, and the risks of selling a policy, set out plainly before you decide.

SurrenderPolicy buys life and endowment policies as principal, with its own money. When it buys, it becomes the owner of the policy and receives its benefits.
We act only as a buyer. We do not broker policies, introduce owners to other buyers, take introduction fees from other buyers or sell policies on to investors. How we make money
MoneySense, the national financial education programme, states that the Monetary Authority of Singapore does not regulate intermediaries or distributors of traded life policies and traded endowment policies. We are not licensed or regulated by MAS for buying policies. MoneySense on traded policies
Your policy itself was issued by an insurer licensed in Singapore, and it stays with that insurer after a sale; only its owner changes. Your policy may be protected by the Policy Owners' Protection Scheme, within its limits, if the insurer fails. That scheme does not cover our business or our offers.
Ownership passes by absolute assignment, a transfer recognised under the Policies of Assurance Act 1867, and the insurer records the notice of assignment.
An insurer may decline to record an assignment, for example because of a restriction in the policy. Our purchase agreement sets out what happens then.
We do not give financial advice, and nothing on this site is a recommendation to sell, keep or surrender your policy. For advice on your situation, speak to a licensed financial adviser.
