Security and scam prevention

How to make sure you are dealing with us, and the warning signs of a policy scam, whoever it claims to come from.

How we deal with you

How we contact you

Only from +65 8893 7909 and from email addresses ending @surrenderpolicy.com. We never ask you to install an app, share your screen, or give a bank login or one-time code.

How we pay you

Only from SurrenderPolicy's company account, into an account in your own name. We never ask you to pay anything to receive your money.

How we handle documents

No NRIC or policy documents until we have spoken, and then only through our secure upload. Never over WhatsApp or ordinary email.

Check us yourself

Contact us on the WhatsApp number or email address on this site, not one sent to you in a message. Ask your insurer to confirm any assignment was lodged.

Warning signs

  • Pressure to sign today, or an offer that "expires in an hour".
  • Any "processing", "release" or "unlocking" fee before you are paid.
  • Requests for full NRIC or passport images over chat.
  • Blank or incomplete forms to sign.
  • Payment offered by someone other than the named buyer.
  • A buyer who will not say who ends up owning the policy.
  • Contact details for your "insurer" that came in a message rather than from the insurer's own website.

If you think you have been targeted

  • Stop replying, and do not send money or documents.
  • Call your insurer on the number from its own website.
  • Call the ScamShield Helpline on 1799 to check. ScamShield helpline
  • If you have lost money, tell your bank at once and report it to the police.
  • If the message used our name, tell us on +65 8893 7909 so we can warn others.
