Sell your whole life insurance policy for cash

We buy participating whole life policies from Singapore's main insurers with our own money, case by case. If we would buy yours, our written offer sits beside your net surrender value so you can compare the two.

Think about your cover first

A whole life policy is usually bought to protect someone. Selling it ends that protection.

  • Selling ends your cover

After the sale, any death benefit is paid to us as the new owner, not to your family or nominee. If anyone relies on that money, arrange other cover before you sell.

  • New cover may cost more

Premiums for new life cover are set by your age and health today. Get a quote first, so you know what replacing the cover would cost.

  • Keeping it may be the better choice

If you can afford the premiums and still want the cover, keeping the policy, borrowing against it or making it paid-up may suit you better. Compare your choices

What we look at in a whole life policy

We value a whole life policy mainly on its cash value and how that value is projected to grow. We never ask for medical information.

Cash value today

Your insurer's net surrender value is the starting point. Our offer has to beat it, or there is no reason to sell.

Bonuses declared

Reversionary bonuses already added to the policy are part of its value. Future bonuses are not guaranteed, so we project them carefully.

Premiums left to pay

We take over every premium still due. The more there is left to pay, the lower the price we can offer.

Age of the life assured

The date of birth on the policy tells us how long the policy is likely to run. It is the only personal detail about the life assured we use.

Policy loans

Any loan and its interest stay with the policy. We take them off the price and show you how.

Riders

Critical illness, waiver of premium and other riders may end on a sale, or may need to be removed first. We check with your insurer.

How we value a policy, step by step

Whole life or endowment: what differs in a sale

Both can be sold by absolute assignment. They are valued differently because they pay out differently.

How a sale works

Nothing is decided until you sign the assignment. You can stop at any point before that.

  1. Tell us about the policy. We don't need your NRIC.
  2. Ask your insurer for a dated net surrender value statement.
  3. If we would buy, we send a written offer naming the price and every condition.
  4. You sign the absolute assignment, your insurer records us as the new owner, and we pay you into an account in your own name.

Whole life questions

Can I sell a whole life policy with a critical illness rider?

Often, yes. The rider may end on the sale or may need to be removed first. We check with your insurer before we make an offer.

Can I sell part of the policy?

No. A sale transfers the whole policy. If you need part of its value, ask your insurer about a partial surrender or a policy loan.

What happens to my nomination?

A revocable nomination generally ends when the policy is assigned. A trust nomination usually blocks a sale unless the trustees agree. About absolute assignment

Is selling better than surrendering?

Only if our offer is higher than your net surrender value and you no longer need the cover. Sometimes it isn't, and we tell you.

My policy is a non-participating whole life plan. Do you buy those?

Rarely, because their cash values tend to be low. Tell us about it and we give you a straight answer.

Find out if we would buy your whole life policy

Tell us about it and we reply with a straight answer. No NRIC, no obligation.
